A small VBC committee usually determine the tournament rules.  The date/time is voted on at one of the VBC meetings. Points are not counted. The team has 1 male and 1 female partner. All other VBC rules apply unless noted by the committee.

Usually but not always:
* The tournament is 3 hours.
* There are one to two couple's tournament a year.
* The tournaments are in the spring and fall when it's not too hot or cold.
* The start time is not too early in the morning. Usually around 8:00 am
* At the weigh-in, the first place team chooses a moderately priced restaurant for lunch and everyone is encouraged to attend.  The tournament participants buy the first place team their lunch.
* Awards: plates for 1st - 3rd place team & big bass
* Start in the middle of the lake
* The weigh-in site is voted on at the VBC meeting.
* The VBC Tournament Director coordinates who will stand in for him if he can not make it to the weigh-in.
* A bass crown and is passed on to the first place winners.
* The team can be husband/wife, mom/son, boy friend/girl friend, dad/daughter, grand father/grand daughter, etc.
